Similarities in Hinduism and Christianity

Hinduism is an ancient religion that Buddha started out practicing. He challenged some of the practices of religious leaders who were not practicing the teachings of Hinduism as subscribed by their belief system. Interestingly, when you look at Hinduism, many Christians could believe there is nothing in common with Christian beliefs. This simply is not true.

We have established that truth doesn't usually remain unadulterated for very long. There are always men mixing philosophy with scripture (or truth). When there are oral scriptures or teachings, those sometimes become corrupt due to men's interpretation.

Let's look at the similarities we find between Christianity and Hinduism.

Similarities  of Teachings:       Tao Te Ching and Christ

Taoism and Christianity may seem so vastly different on first glance. But, are they?

Again, if Christ is the source of all truth and light and if there are other sheep that are not of His fold we suspect upon closer inspection, we will find that the foundation of Taoism was inspired by Christ and the rich nuggets of truth are worth considering. We know that from the beginning Christ was and always will be the author of all truth.

So, as we take a closer look at the foundation of Taoism, we will see some distinct similarities. We will also see that...

Other Sheep

Christ intends to have one fold. He is the shepherd. He is the saving grace available to all mankind.  His light and His spirit animates all of the earth. Without Him the world could not be.  We see in the scriptures several references of this:

Colossians 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 8:58 Truly, truly, I tell you," Jesus declared, "before Abraham was born, I am!

Hebrews 1:3 The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His nature, upholding all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

John 8:58 Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Before Abraham was, I am.

In these last days, there will be a call to gather His other sheep together with  the tribes of Judah and Joseph.  Below there are links where we can explore some of the teachings of other people and see the amazing similarities there are to that which Christ taught.  By holding to the belief that Christ is the only way we can receive salvation does not diminish the fact that there are truths to be found amidst other people. If we can look for truth while keeping the truth of Christ, it may become evident that somewhere, long before Christ dwelt here in the flesh, there were indeed other people who knew Him as well. It may become evident that like the time he dwelt amidst the disciples after his resurrection, he also spent time with other sheep in other places of the world. Why is that hard to believe? Again, if He is the redeemer of all mankind and He loves all of his children, why wouldn't he appear to others as well.

Is it possible that Christ is the one who taught all these other sheep and through the years and because of the traditions of men, Christ Himself became lost to these sheep? Truth is truth.  All truth can be circumscribed into one great whole. God is not the author of confusion. The adversary would have us be divided.  If the adversary is a counterfeiter, how better to distract the children of men (or make them miss the mark) by mingling truth with error. Time and false traditions distorts truth and in time, there are missing components needed for exaltation. However, there are also many great truths that some have that Christians don't (not because Christ didn't teach it, but because it may have been taken out of scriptures by conspiring men).

Is it possible that some of the older teachings of Christ have great relevance to us as a whole? What is we are all truly the children of God's and that Christ is sent to redeem all mankind - not by people joining a religion, but by them becoming His through increased light and truth? Is it possible that by looking at the truth in all things we see that there is a universal truth, and truths that we can all benefit from that we have discarded because we thought we have "truth already". Is it possible that there are people in each of these groups of "lost sheep" that are seeking further light and truth and that they will all find it by coming to an understanding of the true nature of God?

Did Christ not say that He has other sheep? Why would we not believe that He has enlightened them too and that in searching for truth we can come to a greater understanding of the mysteries of heaven? We believe we will find it if we carefully examine the more enlightened teachings and see how they harmonize with what Christ taught.

 Let's see some comparisons.

Similarities in Buddhism and Christianity

There is a great discrepancy among Christian scholars as to who the God of the Old Testament is. Is it God the Father? Is it Jesus Christ?

If we understand Christ's role for the people of this earth, we understand that HE is the salvation and the way. He spoke to prophets prior to his birth among the Israelites and to enlightened men (or prophets) among His other sheep. This is why there are so many similar teachings. Truth is truth and it should be in harmony with itself.

Look at the similar teachings of both Christ and Buddha and you will see that...

Native American Beliefs and Christianity

Native American's have long held on to beliefs handed down from fathers to sons and told around camp fires for hundreds of years. Could there foundation be based on Christian teachings? Could they be His other sheep. We propose that it is not only possible, but probable. Let's take a look at these beliefs and see what we find.

Japanese Beliefs and Christianity

Japanese people have a mixture of Buddhists, Shinto and Christian people. Many practice cultural beliefs for the sake of unity amidst the people even while being Christian by choice. Let's look at some of the foundational beliefs subscribed to be Japanese people and see if we see that Christ is the one who animated the original source (or receiver of)  of light and truth.

What we find may be surprising.

Aboriginals and Christ

Aboriginals also have a long history of tradition and beliefs. They also have had the story tellers who have kept these things alive for generations.

Eastern Europeans and Christ

Eastern Europeans were long considered pagans and during the Crusades were reluctant to become Christians (or have it forced upon them). Is there a foundation of Christ in their ancient records and belief systems? Did paganism result due to apostasy and traditions of men?

Let's take a look and see what we find as we delve deeper into some history (looking for truth).
